CTRA Awards Nominations Form

Award Descriptions

  • Demonstrated leadership in his/her student or professional organization as a member of the board assisted in organizing annual conference or presented at the annual conference
  • Demonstrated leadership with his or her involvement with CTRA as a board member, conference organizer or presenter at CTRA
  • Current CTRA member in good standing with a history of membership for at least 1 year
  • Demonstrated that their work encompasses a global perspective of person abilities by considering the cultural context of the person service are being provided
  • Demonstrated a willingness to work effectively with others TR professionals to enhance TR service delivery
  • Has shared their insights in TR professional newsletter, TR student newsletter or TR journals to enhance TR service delivery
  • Demonstrated that they can apply global concepts to local TR service delivery

Recipient receives:
1. CTRA award and certificate
2. Conference fees waived for next CTRA conference they choose attend 

  • Has donated time in service to the CTRA
  • Has provided ongoing assistance and support to the CTRA throughout the year in the form of i.e. committee work etc.
  • CTRA Board of Directors are NOT eligible for this award

Recipient receives:
1. CTRA award and certificate
2. CTRA membership fees waived for the following year

  • Current CTRA member in good standing with a history of membership for at least 1 year
  • Development of innovative practice or research in therapeutic recreation service
  • Evidence of a stimulating adoption of said practice(s) by professionals at regional, provincial, national and/or international levels
  • Demonstrated transfer of knowledge and expertise to other professionals (presentations, publishing etc.)
  • Well-known therapeutic recreation practitioner in the regional and/or provincial therapeutic recreation community

Recipient receives:
1. CTRA award and certificate
2. CTRA membership fees waived for the following year

  • Nominee must be a current CTRA member in good standing with a history of membership for at least 1 year
  • Nominee must have made a significant contribution to the field of Therapeutic Recreation which may include but is not limited to service on committees and boards which represent advancement in our field, outstanding client care advocacy work in the field of Therapeutic Recreation and the development of workshops/presentations promoting Therapeutic Recreation across Canada
  • Nominee must have made a commitment to ongoing involvement in advancing personal and professional knowledge related to Therapeutic Recreation

Recipient receives:
1. CTRA award and certificate
2. CTRA membership fees waived for the following year

  • Student member in good standing with membership of CTRA for 1 year minimum, or at least one CTRA student member in a class, or involved in a project with other CTRA members in good standing with a history of membership for at least one year
  • Enrolled full-time or part-time in a recognized university/college program
  • Has undertaken an independent challenge or an academic assignment that encompasses initiative, innovation and demonstrates the ability to implement a program or project within the population or community base of interest
  • Demonstrated creative work that is far reaching, crossing borders into various settings, including new and potential service areas

Recipient receives:

2. CTRA membership fees waived for the following year
