Message from the CTRA BOD + Staff

Dear valued members of CTRA near and far,

A lot has happened since our last communications. Prior to COVID- 19, May 6th to the 8th would have been our National Conference. The reality of COVID-19 world pandemic has clearly changed the realities for our profession to the extent that our National Conference was cancelled. Thankfully though, due to technologies available, we were able to pull from previously recorded webinars and conference presentations that are available through our website for a small fee. It is important that CTRA continues to provide its members with educational opportunities to remain current, facilitate personal growth and professional development. We are also exploring new webinar topics to meet current needs of our membership.

The Board understands that Provinces across Canada will be cautiously re-opening. We are encouraging you to turn to your Provincial Associations and affiliates for their leadership during this time. We would like to take this opportunity to recognize and commend the Provincial bodies in supporting their members and advocating on their behalf.

We want you to know that we think you are superhero’s; you are essential services! You are the unspoken hero’s who bring joy, meaning and purpose when stressful and uncertain situations occur. You will find the light at the end of the tunnel. And it is our profession who will shine, who matter and who bring wellbeing in the face of adversity. This pandemic will define us, we will continue to shine, to show how we are important, and why recreation, play, and leisure are essential services! We ask that you protect yourself, and practice self care. We thank you for your service, professionalism, adaptability and commitment to CTRA.

Until we meet again,

Stay happy, healthy and safe.
